TOKYO, August 15, 2013, Asad Ullah Khan, Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance for Coca-Cola Central Japan Co., Ltd., has been recognized by Worldwide Who’s Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in finance management.

Mr. Khan has 23 years of professional experience, having recently become a senior vice president of operations and finance for Coca-Cola Central Japan Co., Ltd. Throughout his career, he has established himself as an expert in the fields of financial and strategic leadership, prioritization of initiatives, and enhanced analysis and decision support. In the course of his duties, he proactively provides financial and strategic leadership and direction to management teams in an accurate, timely manner. He also ensures the optimal allocation of company resources in the planning and implementation of the BU’s business strategy, and he engages in long-term planning to create a compelling destination for the business over a three- to five-year period.

Mr. Khan has more than 13 years of FMCG experience, and he has actively participated as a finance lead for the Middle East and North Africa business unit in the finalization of the Aujan transaction in 2012, acquisition of trademarks and bottling operations in Iraq, preparation for integration, and understanding of the business. He managed finance operations throughout 40 countries in the Middle East and North Africa business unit, as well as the resolution of issues with key bottler pricing and value sharing arrangements. Furthermore, he provides inspiring leadership, and is actively involved in the communication, alignment and participation of Eurasia Africa Finance Destination 2014 and the Economic Profit rollout. He built a strong team of 40 associates in terms of their capabilities and opportunities to engage and participate in group activities.

A true professional, Mr. Khan attributes his success to his hard work ethic, commitment, continuous learning efforts, passion, goal orientation and ability to be a good team player. He separates himself from his peers through 13 years of FMCG experience, working for the world’s most recognized brand, The Coca-Cola Company. Additionally, he worked for over nine years for PWC (top five audit firms). A fully qualified chartered and management accountant, he has diverse experience working in multiple country and multicultural environments. His skill set includes: high level analytical and financial problem solving skills, high quality financial and commercial awareness and business acumen, and current knowledge of all latest International Accounting Standards. Furthermore, he is skilled in motivating and developing financial teams, working in tight monthly and annual deadlines under pressure, and dealing with banks, auditors, customers and government agencies with first rate communication and interpersonal skills. He became involved in his profession because he chose this career path carefully based on the benefits he would gain in the long run throughout his career. The highlight of his career was working with corporate M&A and co-leading the cross functional team from BU in closing the deal to acquire Rani Juice, Barbican & Vimto for $980 million. Mr. Khan lead the process and worked with corporate treasury, and the reporting and controllers group on financial reporting, analysis and performance drivers. Additionally, he supported technical work in the manufacturing facility-both toll filing and green field-and developed initial financial models for value sharing for expansion.

Other highlights of Mr. Khan’s career include stewarding a financial turnaround in the Middle East and significant improvement in financial results for MENA, and receiving two Woodruff Cups as part of the Middle East and then MENA business units.

Mr. Khan attended the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, and he received a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of the Punjab. In addition to his degrees and formal studies, he is a qualified chartered accountant and a cost and management accountant. To benefit others, he supports Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Pakistan. In his spare time, he enjoys watching cricket games and movies, jogging, and walking. In years to come, Mr. Khan plans to be in a senior general management or financial management position in developed market where he can help drive sustainable and profitable growth.
